<I doubt he will myself, given the absence of "smoking gun" economic data to justify the financial turmoil it would cause.>

I think he's damned if he does, damned if he doesn't. He should of acted 18 months and 3,000 pts ago when he thought it was irrational exuberance. This article written last year tries to analyze how AG moves to this current mania.

OFF TOPIC - I need to pick your collective brains. The US embassy here is helping a group of Mauritian sugar workers from the Sugar Investment Trust visit the US to study worker participation in corporate management. SIT holds 20% of local sugar estate shares for the workers pension fund, which entitles them to sit on the sugar company boards.

We want them to see how employee stock ownership works in the US. I need suggestions for companies they could visit. So far, we are looking at Washington, Detroit and LA but the itinerary is still flexible. We wanted to send them to United Airlines in Chicago, but a convention has the city booked solid.

The program takes place June 1 - 10. If anyone has ideas, please send me a private message or E-mail.

Thanks and apologies for the interruption.
