I am very familiar with the ATL folks and they are a good bunch. Its a good deal for them and for QNTM IMO.

I'm not sure this is a good move for the future of DLT. Quantum
has now put itself in direct competition with companies such
as Storage Tech which use its DLT drives in their tape libraries.
If I were Storage Tech, I wouldn't be thrilled about buying the tape
drives for my tape library products from a direct competitor.

Of course, the above doesn't necessarily mean this is a bad move
for Quantum. Perhaps they'll get more revenue overall by selling
tape libraries than they would with DLT alone. Anyone want to
comment?
