I made a little money here last year. 38 to 41, and out. Just luck, I usually lose on quick trades. I'm terrible at investing, at least the timing part... so far. Some day, I plan on making some money. Maybe this QNTM/ATLPA deal will help.

Quantum's move here will make money, in my opinion. I've been following data storage for six months or so and there's supposed to be big money involved in the next 5 years. Humungous money. As the internet stuff continues to expand, so does their need to store data. Yada-yada. A lot of multimedia and digital stuff is worked out on DLT. My only question is if there is room for all the players. Some of these outfits are terribly aggressive and very good at choking out the competition.

Quantum is already in the business, all they needed was an outlet, and ATL is the biggest and best company for that out there, apparently. Check their web-site, but I believe they account for 50% of all DLT library sales. Plus they have a lot of patented robotics and other hardware that they OEM for giants like EMC and SunMicroSystems. Almost forgot, they also make the software to run the libraries. Powerful stuff. A smart buy here, if the deal goes through.

I hope it works. I'd like to make some money. Good luck to us.
