Here's a question that I've wanted to know the answer to for a long time. Maybe you would know.

If someone in the United States wants to start a lawsuit against a broker-dealer who touted, for example YBM, in a research report, they have to demonstrate a legal concept called "reliance," or that they relied on the representations in the report as the basis for their investment decision.

Is there a similar standard in Canada?
