We all had hoped our problems with abuses of power went away when Mr Nixon went away.

Surprise!! They're back!!

And guess what? As long as the levers of power exist, immoral jerks are going to keep coming along to misuse them.

The founders understood the dangers of powerful government and bequeathed on us an ingenious system of checks and balances that worked brilliantly for 150 years. Giving government unlimited power is just a bad bargain. The goodies we get from it aren't worth the pain we pay for them.

>>Well, just dropped by to read a few posts, read Mr. Farrah's claim that "not one person on the list were ever audited or harassed" during the Nixon administration. I couldn't let that pass without comment.

This claim is just plain wrong. Even outrageously wrong. Under Nixon, "enemies of the people" did get audited.<<

Actually, it's you who is both outrageous and wrong. Farah was referring to Nixon's "enemies list" and the failure of the IRS to act on it:

President Nixon attempted to abuse the IRS and was shut down by his own bureaucracy; Mr. Clinton, however, has succeeded. Nixon compiled a media enemies list, but not one person on the list was ever audited or harassed; Mr. Clinton has managed to isolate or punish many of his press antagonists.

And Farah was quite correct about that statement. Fortunately, it won't be long until there will absolutely no doubt that Clinton crime's easily eclipse Nixon's in both number and scope.

Don't worry, we know we can't believe you because of your previous statements.
