At around 1:30, I saw a large block of 25000 trade at 7 15/16 while the bid was at 7 15/16 and the ask at 8 1/16. This to me was a clear sell by an institution to a market maker. I am speculating that the market maker might have been short the stock and eagerly bought the block to cover his short. During this period of market correction, many nasdaq stocks are slowly sinking, accentuated by the market makers themselves, who are selling short the stock. They must buy it back at some point, and generally are able to do it close to the low, since they have the advantage of seeing buy limit orders and sell stops. Just my opinion.
