Henry,

I admit that I did not carefully analyze the graph that tonyt provided. Since tonyt's choice of a 70 month time frame when I had asked about a 24 month time frame was clearly just another evasion (as was the first graph he produced), and since the answer to the actual question seemed clear (i.e. Vical's stock has not performed any better than Ligand's over the time period that tonyt and the nays so often complain about), there didn't seem to be much point in it. I did notice that the charting program used seems to limit one to certain preset choices of time interval, 24 months not being among them. However, you certainly have a point that the time period chosen severely affects the apparent relative performance of the two stocks, as demonstrated by the 40 and 50 month charts:

Quite a difference. Thank you for prompting me to look into this further. (And certainly, a genuine analysis of the two stocks as investment opportunities has nothing to do with any of this chartfoolery).

Thanks,
John

I predict LGND is headed higher. VITAL IMAGES (VTAL- 2 5/8) also looks interesting--very heavy INSIDER BUYING, and visualization software technology that could permit the VIRTUAL COLONOSCOPY for the detection of colon cancer---an evaluation of the colon WITHOUT INSERTING A TUBE!! VIRTUAL endoscopy procedures for the detection of cancer is LEADING EDGE and could be on the verge of significant growth and publicity. Check out what the INSIDERS are doing with VTAL !!!
