vantive's typical volume is roughly 500k shares. However, the stock will typically trade 1.2 million (plus) shares when confronting some form of a material development. The stock has not fully digested this news yet.

Happy to see the stock down only a small amount. Everything I heard about Ms. Murphy has been positive; hard to believe that this was Vantive's decision. IMHO the CEO is a very professional executive with tremendous depth in sales management, but not the necessarily the charismatic leader that would inspire the depths of loyalty as would, say, a Steve Jobs (keeping in mind that there are not many like him). Net, I'm not surprised that turnover happens at Vantive, just like any other high tech firm. Vantive has done a tremendous job at harnessing the talents of high-caliber individuals to create an effective team, and will continue to do so.
