I had the same experience going from OT 3.1 --> OT 3.2 However, it appears that was due to crossing the 16bit-->32bit divide. Since both OT 3.2 and 3.5 are 32bit programs, just copying the profile subdirectory carried over all my symbols and their userdata associations just fine (I'm using Omega data). The OT folks know that their copy utility has bugs and presumably will try to get it right next time.
