Good news on Contract Manufacturers from Hadco conference call.

Hadco is clearly having issues relative to their PCB business, primarily concerning pricing and demand.

However, they actually said business from contract manufacturers remains ROBUST. The CEO of HADCO said problems are "arising from the desktop area." I think the biggest problem they are having right now is the fact that Compaq is their second largest customer and demand from Compaq has probably fallen off the cliff as they try to clear the channel. The good news is that neither Jabil or Flextronics does any business with Compaq, and that Hadco said business from their contract manufacturing customers remains strong.

The saddest thing about HADCO is that they really paid up to buy Continental Circuits. I think Compaq was CCIRs largest customer, and HADCO basically inherited that problem.

My opinion.

W. D. Morean sold 87,500 shares @ $34.88 - $36 on April 30,1998

Audrey M. Peterson (beneficial owner) sold 47,500 @ $35.67 - $38.63 on April 23 - April 30,1998

Thomas A. Sansone sold 95,500 shares @ $35.28 - $38.06 on April 24,1998.

Michael A. Ward (VP) sold 2,000 shares @ $37.50 on April 24,1998

Frank Krajcirovic (VP) sold 342 shares @ $30.44 on April 8,1998

Chairman, President and Audrey still own lots of shares but having all these sales so close together does not create a good appearance.

PS. Their market timing skills leave something to be desired.
