One lark does not make a spring, nor one anecdote a trend. However, today I heard an interesting tale suggesting a very tight labor market in certain arenas. It seems that our local Xerox copier technician/ repairman of five years gave notice last week of his intention to leave his company and move on to another opportunity. In a matter of days, his corporation responded with a $5000.00 bonus check if he would stay for but one more year. He accepted. It seems his company is at wits' end filling positions such as his with qualified personnel.
