Jon,

Could you please enlighten me on the threat by Aureal to Creaf's position in the pc audio market. Apparently they have licensed their technology to DIMD, and they will/have introduced a new chip (Vortex). It supposedly adds more 'realism' in electronic games. I'm told that Dell has replaced the Sound Blaster card with the Vortex 3D audio chip in its top-of-the-line models. The Vortex comes at a cost and needs a PCI bus system running at least 100 MHz, and software written specifically to take advantage of the system. Aureal claims that they have convinced many game makers of their technology.

Would appreciate your read of Aureal's threat to Creaf's market.

Thanks
