I'm assuming the bolded and italicized "IMAC???" in that last article was your doing, and not the doing of the writers of the piece?

In any case, thanks for posting it. I've wondered how much sense an NC makes when PCs are getting well below $1000 these days anyhow.

This is another area Apple is not cashing in on in their marketing.

<<''Even if you can buy a PC for $700, that's only the cost of acquisition - that's not the cost of maintaining the damn thing.''>>

The cost of acquisition for a PC may be slightly lower or equal to a Mac, but the total cost of ownership and maintenance is actually higher. Sometimes twice the annual cost of owning a Mac.

I've mentioned many times before that, as a consultant I made heaps of money trying to make Windows PCs do what the client wants. Although I make a nice living on the Mac too, I don't get as many opportunities for overtime on the Mac.

As long as PCs stay unreliable, the economy of tech support consultants remains more than healthy!

As an MIS Manager, I'd really like to see the NC fly. I don't like paying overtime to consultants and I'd like to give my full-time staff a break.
