RCVJr: Here's my point. Nitroglycerine is for angina pain. It's purpose is to help the patient self diagnose or a paramedic to diagnose whether this is really angina or a heart attack. If a heart attack is going on, Nitro is not going to help. If a man has a "crushing type chest pain," he doesn't need to wonder if he's having a heart attack. He is. He needs to get to a hospital. The nitro routine of taking 3 pills at 5 minute intervals will only delay the patient from getting to the hospital and getting lifesaving treatment. In the meantime, the aspirin is the best self help the patient can give himself.
