hey bruce---i wish i could say it's good to be back. maybe next time.

i spent some good time between vodka fogs and golf games analyzing some things i have had going on and have made some life changing decisions. no, a trip to denmark is not imminent. but, i have decided on a retirement date and even though it is five years away it is the first time i've really sat down and thought about it. perhaps having one of those "significant" birthdays while in hawaii helped me to make that decision.

i've also decided to invest in a new business venture that will cause me to pull some money out of the market. that's o.k., as i'm too heavy into equities overall and i need the deversification. if the business performs as i believe it will, it should start throwing off some nice chunks of cash just about the time i pull the plug on an everyday job. by that time i should have been able to replace the money i'm going to pull out of the market now, but the additional investment in the new business will leave me with less of a % in equities.

it all sounds good. it all looks good when i put it down on paper. hopfully we'll have the venture formed within 60 days and the business up and running about the end of the year. can't say anything more about now, but it looks pretty good and other people whose opinion i respect agree.

i feel better than i have in a while with the help of this new plan. lots to do and that's o.k., too.

looks like some more new blood on the board. i think when we hit a certain number of new participants it allows the wisconsin wit to reuse all his puns from the previous couple of years. i can hardly wait. hope all is well. s.k.
