Rob: El Cheapo PC heaven has arrived! news.com So who's left who only has Intel inside - Dell and HP? It seems like the message of this story is - "if you want to make PCs, (and you're not Dell) then you need a cheap cpu." Looks to me like FOB (fear of bankruptcy) is replacing FOI (Fear of Intel). How do you think IDT's new chips will stack up against Cyrix's soc chips due in '99? The children of first wave baby boomers should be entering college right now. The $500 - $600 PC has arrived just in time. Lots and lots and lots of PC/info devices will be sold to them. See! I'm not a "The PC is dead" guy, after all.
