Although there is overlap between Manu & Red Pepper, I believe Red Pepper to be stronger in finite scheduling, with Manu relatively stronger in distribution requirements planning, especially in consumer packaged goods. I could see Manu being attractive to the ERP folks.

You are correct - RP and Manu are different animals. Well there is some overlap, for sure, but yesterday I was visiting a customer that has RP currently and is on the verge of buying I2. So psft could definitely benefit from acquiring manu. The problem in the past was the valuation of manu or I2.
