go2net, Inc. Announces Ecommerce Relationship With Wave Systems, Opening
Of New York City Sales Office

PR Newswire, Friday, May 22, 1998 at 00:48

SEATTLE, May 20 /PRNewswire/ -- go2net, Inc. (NASDAQ:GNET) announced
today that it has recently signed substantial agreements with advertisers for
placement on its finance, games, search and shopping sites. Wave Systems
Corporation's (OTC BB:WAVX) "Great Stuff Network" was named the exclusive
Electronic Software Distributor on go2net's Metacrawler Marketplace. Other
recent additions to the Marketplace have included Golf Discount, DVD Flix and
PetQuarters.
MetaCrawler Marketplace is a unique, high-visibility marketing opportunity
for advertisers in today's busy online market. go2net's network of sites
attracts over 4 million unique users per month, and the Marketplace leverages
the high traffic of go2net's popular metasearch service, MetaCrawler, allowing
advertisers to reach consumers through prominent front-page link placement.
This program also allows advertisers exclusive ownership of specific
categories in the mall-like setting of the Marketplace.
The current list of advertisers includes well-known online brands such as
CDNow, Cyberian Outpost, CarSmart and Patagonia. The Marketplace also offers a
venue for the service-oriented advertiser, such as HomeShark for Real Estate
and Robert Half for the Career Center.
"Our agreement with go2net will place the Great Stuff Network in front of
millions of savvy consumers," says Steven Sprague, president of Wave Systems.
"This relationship will drive added revenue for our software vendors and
increase Wave's overall sales."
"The addition of a quality ESD partner to Marketplace was a great step for
us," said John Keister, go2net's COO. "We have seen strong growth in the
number of Marketplace partners this quarter, both in the products area and in
the services area. We are also pleased with the advertising sales progress on
StockSite and on PlaySite."
Additionally, go2net has recently opened a New York sales office to
facilitate its advertising sales on the East Coast. This office will primarily
service the New York, Boston, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C. markets.
Further, the recently-announced acquisition by go2net of Silicon Investor,
a premier personal finance site, will help place go2net's network of premier
niche sites as being among the most trafficked on the Web, underscoring its
expanding Web presence.

Check out this website for WavePhore, Inc. (WAVO): wavephore.com. WAVO has been mentioned as a possible partner with our WAVX.

WAVO specializes in providing high speed delivery of data and real-time news to both business and the home. It looks like they have some synergy with WAVX, especially since WAVX originally spoke about metering these services back around 1995 and '96.

WAVO has partnerships in place with some big names, including Intel, Compaq, Microsoft and HAUPPAUGE. BTW, does anyone know if WAVO and WAVX have any connection from the past or is the similarity of names just a coincidence?
