OK then.. is this correct or the best assumptions?
1) his firm tried to work the order WITHOUT HIS PERMISSION and lost
2) bad prints

Steve/Anyone,

What, if anything, can I do to prevent my shares from being borrowed for short selling?

I have heard that they can't be borrowed if held in a cash account. If so, what if when making a trade in your account you have to specify the account type as cash or margin?

I have also heard that placing a sell order, even one way out of the market, would prevent them being borrowed for shorting.

Would it be a good idea to write a letter revoking the margin agreement and disabling the margin account? I can't use margin as it is an IRA.

TIA

Richard James

Are there ANY requirements to post trades on Bulletin Board stocks? On the relatively illiquid ones you get unbelievable gaps in the time between reported trades.

My broker requires a minimum of a round lot to short a stock. Is this an industry wide requirement, or can you short less than 100 shares?
