I'm with you on that one Terry (about Premier Tobin). Having a high profile job does not necessarily make him the brightest person on earth. Here is some recent political rhetoric from the esteemed Premier of NF as examples of his speaking on behalf of other people: House of Assembly Debates, May 8 1998: PREMIER TOBIN: Mr. Speaker, here we go. We have the Board of Trade of St. John's, the Board of Trade in Labrador, we have all of the construction associations, we have the labour unions, we have the engineering society, we have all of the former chairmen of Hydro, all of the former presidents of Hydro, we have every last, living, breathing, thinking citizen of Newfoundland and Labrador saying: Let us get on with Churchill River power developments; and we have the Leader of the Opposition saying: I am going to think about it some more. (At the very least, Mr. Tobin somehow has forgotten the opinion of Native groups on this matter) PREMIER TOBIN: Mr. Speaker, I don't support, unless it is necessary, a single tree being cut. I don't support, unless it is necessary, a single fish being caught. Mr. Speaker, I don't support, unless it is necessary, a single river being developed. We do all of these things to pursue the best public policy interests of the people of Newfoundland and Labrador.
