investorgal,

Do you know how the revenue from IM like Octel is recognized?
Does it mean that only after Octel ships the product to its customers will it pay informix? Also I am curious how informix knows the imminent revenue will be 6.2 million.

Thanks,

H.Wai

investorgal sez:

I guess I'm just dumb. So far the NEW Informix doesn't
understand the new accounting rules

my understanding is that the transaction(s) in question are
allowable under the new accounting rules (SOP-97-2 ??) and that
the new auditor, KPMG, was willing to go to bat for IFMX on this.
instead of fighting a public battle with E&Y over the numbers the
company chose to restate. surely, your IFMX contacts have told
all of this already...

i don't think you're dumb, my guess is you're a little bitter
over the latest downturn. i admit to being ready to liquidate
when the news first broke. i didn't. relative stupidity will
eventually be determined.
