Dear borb - I don't know how many times I ve to say in this thread to convince people I meant what I said: I ve no particular concern about buyout, rumor or real, so I won't be betting with you.

To be fair, I don't mind if whoever would want to hand me a fat premium <G>. To change the subject to more salient area, if you don't mind, will you please explain the stmt "INTC threw in towel." I ve been working throughout the weekend, so I ve not kept up with the news. Did something happen to INTC? And why CSCO is 2 steps ahead of INTC in this [what?] field. AFAIK, even though INTC has the desire to move into networking, her bread'n butter is still chips. Has CSCO moved into the chip sector? If so, Messr Chambers is even smarter than I think - to pick up a dozen of chip shops on the cheap while the sector is down.

Interesting, with MANU crash and burnt yesterday, I wonder if it is immune from the shark bump'n dump tactics to stick it to the small investors. Sure, GS and a dozen others are plucking CSCO now, so probably it will brask in glory. And more power to it.

If one or two Q disappointment is the demise of a co, irrespective of its mgt depth, sure, maybe BAY, along with hundreds of great cos, would surely go to hell with a handbasket.

best, Bosco

Borb - To the gamblers in the group, whether Bay has an offer or whether it chooses to announce said offer at Supercom is immaterial. What matters is whether enough speculators believe they will. IMHO, the late day rally and heavy call volume represent bets that Bay will appreciate between now and Supercom on the expectation that they are being taken out (same thing happened with MER a month or so ago and the price has remained high on buyout speculation). Of course, if no bids materialize, this perceived premium could vanish quickly so I would see this as a short-term swing trade at best.

Good luck.
