J.L: Would it be correct to assume that the long term trends point to the following:

a: Fibre Channel will be the predominant I/O for Servers and high speed devices. PCI will also be under threat.

b:Firewire will replace IDE/SCSI/UDMA based on best speed/unit cost. It will be used on all P.C's.

I understand Apple,Molex,Skiptone,Texas Inst are also into Firewire. It will be interesting if any one knows the market share of each.

Regarding Fibre Channel, is Digital in the lead re:Sales.

If this long term scenario is correct, how will ADPT and its recent acquisition fare.?

Low speed USB is irrelevant to Adaptec's past, current, or future. Can people keep in mind we are analyzing the market of Adaptec?; not discussing technology in general. Mice, etc.; this isn't Adaptec market; why on earth is anyone on this thread discussing low speed USB??? This isn't a technology open chat thread. We are here for investing and making money; right? Who cares how much a low speed USB chip costs; it is totally and completely irrelevant.
