Holly,

made Norplant a condition of one woman's probation

I am liberal enough to want to respect everyones' rights in this country, and I think the poor often get a bad deal from the justice system. A guy who washes my car is now in jail for failure to pay fines for a few minor offenses -- a burnt out headlight, etc. But this guy literally lives from one meal to the next. He probably had to decide whether to pay the fine or to eat.

But that said, the Norplant ruling was ridiculous. You don't have the right to procreate when you are a felon or abusing your kids or having them one after another and expecting society to support them and their likely sociopathic behavior in later years.
