"Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools", Romans 1:22

Here are some more wise proverbs...

Pro 12:23 A prudent man concealeth knowledge: but the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness.

Ecc 7:5 It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise, than for a man to hear the song of fools.

Isa 19:11 Surely the princes of Zoan are fools, the counsel of the wise counsellors of Pharaoh is become brutish: how say ye unto Pharaoh, I am the son of the wise, the son of ancient kings?

Isa 19:13 The princes of Zoan are become fools, the princes of Noph are deceived; they have also seduced Egypt, even they that are the stay of the tribes thereof.

1Cr 4:10 We are fools for Christ's sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye are honourable, but we are despised.

2Cr 11:19 For ye suffer fools gladly, seeing ye yourselves are wise.

Eph 5:15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,

Sam, would it be possible to tell me the significance of your posts about the Red Sea and contemporary Catholicism in plain English? I have one of the worst summer colds that has ever hit anyone in the head, and complex literary tracts are not very comprehensible to me at the moment.

Thanks!!!

P.S. I do understand, I think, that you are saying that literal translations of the Bible fail when looked at with intellectual scrutiny and proper translations of ancient words, which have led to massive misunderstandings.
