It was to attempt to show how the original manuscript was used as an allegory to demonstrate how the divine part of humanity was in bondage and had to escape thru the mind. It was never to indicate historical fact reported as such. It was not a display of God's power by a miracle. The whole bible is an an allegory of the divine spirit entering animal matter and refining it to a higher position in the cosmic scheme of vibration. Without the Spirit of mind and reasoning you would be no higher than the animal world today. It was given to show the errors of the historical reconstruct of a spiritual allegory which is mans creation. If you read the complete story it explains step by step how changing the Green waters to red when the original meaning was a sea of reeds in shallow water. The situation of the historical reporting is not only an impossible situation by natures law, but also to any reasoning mind. The same applies to the great flood and Noah's ark. When you apply reason and experience there is no way it could be true. So both these allegories are to lead mankind to refinement of his animal instincts is offset by the report as historical fact, a myth of yore. Then we are asked to believe thru faith that with God all things are possible and man cannot understand. The fault of this understanding was caused by an incorrect translation of "red" as a descriptive color rather than the name of the plant life. This is easily proved by any critic of the bible authenticity of its being a myth rather than historical fact.
