Eric - Interesting observations. Good work.

I think BT/Alex Brown has been a long time supporter of Novell.

Good work Eric!!!

The Alex Brown analyst was the most positive on the conference call, asking very leading questions. I believe their analyst was way off on revenue estimates the previous quarter.

Nothing like hyping a stock they own.

NEW YORK (CNNfn) - The chief executive of
Novell Friday credited "a strong focus on expenses"
for the software company's better-than-expected
second-quarter earnings.
Novel CEO Eric Schmidt told CNNfn's "In the
Game" the company will now begin concentrating on
its Internet products after reporting
better-than-expected profits this week.
For the three months to April 30, Novell's
earnings were $19.3 million, or five cents per diluted
share, compared with a loss of $14.6 million, or four
cents, in the same quarter of 1997. First Call had
forecast earnings of four cents per share.
Here are excerpts from Schmidt's interview with
CNNfn anchor Sasha Salama:

SASHA SALAMA: What would you say was most
responsible for the turnaround?
ERIC SCHMIDT: Well, we've continued to
have a strong focus on expenses, getting new
products out the door. We had a first phase, which
was (to) stabilize the business. We're pretty much
through that, and now we're positioned to move to
our Internet products......
