That's the point. It does hurt. It forces the US companies that compete with the imports and not raise prices. This keeps inflation low, hence the Fed doesn't have a need to raise rates. Kind of a morbid way to put a positive spin on it. Again, I don't have a personal opinion, just listening to others.

As far as your energy question, read my post #3828. It's pretty dramatic what the Deutsche Bank economist stated concerning energy usage by Asia. I haven't found any other source to cross check his figures. I was surprised by the amount he stated.
