"In this matter you are wrong because God was the one that gave the name of Yeshua to Himself ( The Son)." Yeshua, could you direct me to the Scripture that tells us that "God was the one that gave the name of Yeshua to Himself"? I wouldn't waste to much time trying to find it because it doesn't exist. Matt.1 18: Now the birth ofJesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. 19: Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily. 20: But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. 21: And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. 22: Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, 23: Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. 24: Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife: 25: And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS. The word Jesus is translated into English from the Greek Iesus or Iesous. This is the only record we have of God naming His Son. Yeshua, where did you get the idea that God had named His son Yeshua? It is important to remember, Yeshua, that I am not the one that made an issue of Jesus's proper name but it is the "messianics" who have made an issue out of it by insisting on the appropriate and holy usage of the the Hebrew word Yeshua for the name of Jesus in all languages of the world. They show no respect for the New Testament Scriptures because they have made an icon out of the modern Hebrew language and out of modern Talmudic Judaism. --------------------- "Emile.... I have never said that the Scripture written in Hebrew is somehow more Holy," I hope having never said it means that you see no greater holiness in the Hebrew or Greek languages than any other language. Some Greek Orthodox also view the Greek factor of the Scriptures as the holy element rather than the Holy Spirit factor. The thing that makes the Scriptures holy is not the language but the Spirit of God in the precepts communicated. God simply uses Language as a vehicle to communicate His thoughts and precepts. If words capture God's meaning in a translation of the original Scriptures, the thoughts are holy, if they fail to capture God's thoughts or distort God's thoughts, then the words are unholy. I am glad you clarified your position. May the love of Christ abound in your heart according to the true desires of your heart. Emile
