Anyone see the article in today's WSJ about the US Chamber of Commerce running ads against the lawyers' fees of the tobacco settlement? Very interesting. The article states that, "The chamber fears the lawyers will use any windfall from tobacco litigation to bankroll an assualt on another industry." I wonder what trade groups, or big corporations, may join in. I see a PR campaign, that indirectly supports the tobacco companies, sponsored by many corporations and trade groups who have similar fears as the Chamber of Commerce.
