Is there anyone besides myself having a terrible time with the Web Street dynamic quotes. They are frequently down and when functioning, they lock up my computer a half dozen times a day forcing me to reboot. They are especially bad at the opening of the market. They have not always been this way. It's only been in the past two months that the problems started. I fear that they have increased their client base beyond their ability to handle them. I am also growing tired of having to call every morning to find out what my balance and buying power is. These numbers have been screwed up on the balance sheet for as long as I've had the account, nearly 5 months now. In addition, I had an interesting problem for the last week and a half. One of my stocks, TAVA, continually displayed quotes on the Level II from 5/13. I'm trying to time a buy or a sell and the quotes I see are ten days old! The other equities in my portfolio were fine but not this one. Unfortunately, TAVA is a significant portion of my portfolio. I called repeatedly asking to get it fixed but to no avail. Finally one of the tech support guys told me that they were having a lot of trouble and that my problem just wasn't important enough. Well I guess one stock in a thousand giving inaccurate quotes is not much of a problem. That is of course unless you own 20,000 shares of it! Fortunately, last Friday when I called tech support to complain again, Ryan answered the phone and after I told him my problem, he said he would call PC Quote which provides the service for Web Street and follow up by e-mailing them. That was all it took. My thanks to Ryan, but it shouldn't have taken ten days to find someone willing to pick up the phone and call PC Quote. If you are only making a couple of trades a week and the timing is not all that important to you then Web Street is fine, but if you are trying to make a living on the stock market, this brokerage firm sucks big time. They keep telling me that a new system that is coming online will solve my problems but then they keep pushing back the date for the start-up. I'll give them another week or two to improve things and then I'm out of here. Good Luck to you all.
