Dear Nancy;

Thank you for sharing your understanding with me. I too am impressed by the faith of Ruth. She was a gentile who realized who God is and made a tremendous statement of faith in the book of Ruth.

16 But Ruth said, Do not urge me to leave you or turn back from following you; for where you go, I will go, and where you lodge, I will lodge. Your people shall be my people, and your God, my God.
17 Where you die, I will die, and there I will be buried. Thus may the LORD do to me, and worse, if anything but death parts you and me.

Being a gentile myself I find her statement of faith very compelling. I am proud to pitch my tent of faith with the Jewish people. I find it fascinating that Ruth and Naomi went to Bethlehem. What do you think is the significance of this?

What a wonderful blessing it is to worship Yeshua in a Jewish context. I can only wonder what Yeshua must think when the Hebrew prayers he learned as a boy are mocked and denied here. I post some of them here for Shabbat because they are so beautiful. To think that Yeshua heard them as he grew up is such a blessing to me as I grow in knowledge and grace.

I believe that gentiles have a wonderful opportunity to show Yeshua's love toward all believers. The world is supposed to look upon the love we have toward our brothers and sisters and find it desirable. I do not mind contending with the unbelievers here to a certain point. But when I constantly have to fight with believers it certainly gets old fast.

Rom 10:19 But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy by [them that are] no people, [and] by a foolish nation I will anger you. Listen up Emile, we are to provoke to jealousy, not wrath. To be attractive to Jew and Gentile alike, not repulsive. If Jews are so evil, why did God return them to Israel as he promised. To speak such evil towards them in this Year of Jubilee must grieve God tremendously.

Please share with me about Shavout again. I am looking forward to celebrating this day that the Lord set aside for Jew and Gentile alike. What would the Lord have us understand about this Holiday?

Thanks again for sharing your knowledge with me. May God bless all the works of your hands. In Yeshua's Love - DLL
