Im sorry Rav...I don't think anybody means to jump your case personally, its just that that question has been asked and answered so many times tonight its not even funny.

If you do not have confidence in the answers you have gotten here, and don't want to make your own decision, then you should listen to your broker.

That's all I was trying to say. Myself, I am not worried, because I have help my "p" for a long long time.

RavMan..

Here's how you know for sure..
When you call your broker ask him for
a quote on MIDLP...then ask him
if it comes up with an "x" after the quote
on your broker's quotation service..if it does
then no dividend as that will be the
first day it trades without the dividend
hence X-DIV...

If he tells you that there is no "x"
designation after the quote..then
you will get the dividend even if you
wait until 3:59 to buy the stock...

Forget T+3..record dates and payable dates
THE ONLY DATE THAT MATTERS IS THE X-DIVIDEND DATE
buy before and you get the dividend...
buy after and you don't.

Ravman, when not "looking", I have been screwed by my broker. However, when I tell him in advance that he had better be right, or he is going to have to pay the difference, then he will make sure he is right. If you tell him (them) in writing - fax it - that you are confirming what they told you at (date) & (time) regarding when you have to buy the MIDLP in order to get the dividend, then you expect the dividend.
If they are a reputable brokerage, they will make it right.
