What's going on with powerbook sales? I called MacZone, MacWarehouse, MacMall, Computerware, and the Apple Store today: 12" and 13" screens are backordered and 14" isn't expected til early-mid June! Jobs stated powerbooks were "available now" on May 6 -- this seems too reminiscent of the old Apple problems. What I don't know is whether they ran into manufacturing problems, or if they simply sold out of a large inventory early on. Anyone have further insight?

Also, does anyone know why powerbook resolution is fixed (i.e., cannot change from 1024x768 on 14")? This puts a crimp in my plans to use it as a desktop replacement -- kind of hard on the eyes reading some webpages at this resolution.
