To all:

I went to Circuit City yesterday to buy 2 VCRs. When I ask the salesman if they were Y2k compliant, he stated that he is being asked the same question once or twice per week. He asked why a vcr could have a problem and I stated that even vcr+ has a date involved in the code, and that programming using the calendar in the unit is date sensitive. He was stunned when I demanded that the extended warranty (which I did purchase) include y2kcompliance. His boss authorized that statement on the warranty.

I will be asking for a statement of compliance for any item I purchase until this passes.

Capt. Ron

The Power Grid, Military, Telecommunications and Banking System would seem to be the highest priorities for pre-2000 remediation...
