Greg... Learn More I think you must have missed this on the Conference Call from EMC's latest quarter....

Michael C. Ruettgers, EMC President and CEO, said, ''For the fourth quarter in a row our year-over-year
revenue and net income growth rate exceeded 30%, a sustained level of growth that is unusual for a
company our size. Our 34% revenue increase over last year's first quarter represents our highest
year-to-year quarterly growth rate in nearly three years. These results were fueled by the rapid acceptance
of Fibre Channel connectivity for our Symmetrix Enterprise Storage systems in various operating
environments, with particularly strong demand from HP-UX, Sun Solaris and Windows NT customers. In
our first full quarter offering multi-platform Fibre Channel connectivity for Symmetrix systems, more
than 20% of all Symmetrix systems revenue included Fibre Channel connectivity. We also enjoyed a
150% increase in software revenue compared with the same period a year ago.''

For the record, here is what they said.

Box Hill CEO Philip Black said, ''While first quarter results were lower than expectations, we are pleased that the business
picked up in March. Our business levels in January and February may have been indicative of an overall market slowdown.
Our fundamentals remain strong, and we are confident in our business strategy.''

Net revenues increased 5.3% to $16.0 million for the three months ended March 31, 1998, from $15.2 million
for the three months ended March 31, 1997. The increase resulted from an increase in volume, which was partially offset by
price reductions. For the three months ended March 31, 1998, increases in sales of back-up products were offset by
decreases in net revenues from sales of RAID products and other traditional storage products. Net revenues from sales of
back-up products increased $3.2 million to $5.7 million for the three months ended March 1998, compared to $2.5 million for
the comparable period of 1997. The increase in net revenues from sales of back-up products is

the result of the additional focus on the importance of backing-up mission critical data by the Company's traditional customer
base, and the successful sales efforts in obtaining new customers requiring the Company's knowledge and experience in
back-up integration.

Net revenues from sales of RAID products decreased $2.1 million, or 43.8%, to $2.7 million for the three months ended
March 31, 1998, compared to $4.8 million

for the three months ended March 31, 1997. Net revenues from sales of traditional storage products and services decreased
$.3 million, or 3.8%, to $7.6 million for the three months ended March 31, 1998, compared to $7.9 million for the comparable
period of 1997. The decrease in net revenues from sales of RAID products and other traditional storage products is primarily
due to several of its large customers delaying purchasing decisions while reviewing new technologies and consolidating their
information systems infrastructures.

What it all means I don't know for sure. Is the reason for the decrease in net revenue from sales of RAID true or a bunch of bull .... We will find out next quarter won't we! If someone can give me the answer before that I would sure appreciate it. :-)
