Just to keep things in perspective the top of the line IBM Thinkpad 770 with 14" screen required up to a month for delivery. Rich

Thank you for that. Unfortunately, many here don't "keep things in perspective" as they should. In our immediate gratification world, if people can't have what they want right away, they get needlessly upset. Patience is a virtue, and all good things to those who wait. Cliches yes, but very true in this case.

This is comparing Apples to Oranges (no pun intended). Over half of Apple's laptop product line is delayed-I am not talking about one exact model like the IBM. Additionally, investors and analysts and the press are all looking to see if Apple is repeating past mistakes. Apple can't afford to say "well Billy's mom said Billy could so I will too." Apple needs to be on their toes so that no one can say they are repeating past mistakes, period. If IBM had a model delayed, that doesn't mean it makes it right for everyone to delay products. It means the opposite-that both IBM and Apple are making mistakes. Do you understand that if someone else makes the same mistake that it doesn't mean that yours was ok?

In the end, the new powerbooks are killer, and will really help Apple. They are worth the wait-but there is some valid concern out there.
