CNBC said that Nortel made an offer for BAY

Novell is certainly ripe for somebody to try a takeover. With Net 5 far enough along for other companies to evaluate it, that product plus the installed base plus $1billion must be tempting. We have also reached the point where some companies are looking to make acquisitions since earnings revenue is slowing in the industry. When growth slows in the markets you are in it becomes profitable to use money to buy other companies rather than set it aside for expansion. I think we are there.

Of course the Nortel news reported by CNBC was reported by Dow Jones two weeks ago. If Zacks can publish Novell's earnings report date as May 28th then I guess CNBC can report DJ's May 16th news as today's. Hey that's the world we live in now, right.
