Jim, Your engineer friend is fairly typical of what I've learned over the years. I guess some people never engage a waitperson or bartender in conversation, only making stereotypical assumptions about that person's socioeconomic status and level of education. I wasn't going to say anything, but I too had considered going into the restaurant trade as a bartender or waitperson. That was before the smoking ban in bars and restaurants, however. Oh well, I guess I'll have to keep on telecommuting my high-level skills for less money than the average restaurant or bar worker makes. Holly
