***NEWS RELEASE*** TNR Resources Ltd - Argentina property being acquired; director appointed TNR Resources Ltd TRR Shares issued 3403359 1998-05-29 close $0.42 Monday Jun 1 1998 Mr. Gary Schellenberg reports TNR and Solitario Resources have signed a definitive agreement for TNR Resources to purchase Solitario's Argentina subsidiary, Minera Solitario de Argentina (CMSA) for $500,000. This agreement, which contemplates final closing in June 1998 and which was first reported in Stockwatch April 21, 1998, will significantly enhance TNR's property portfolio. Upon completion of the transaction, TNR will have four joint venture partners developing four projects in Argentina and Guyana: Newcrest Mining, Battle Mountain Gold, Champion Resources and Eldorado Gold. The financing recently announced will allow the company to aggressively evaluate and explore its 11 wholly owned projects in Argentina not yet joint ventured. Several major and mid-tier mining and exploration companies have recently expressed interest in these projects and are currently reviewing data provided by the company. Chris Herald has been appointed to the board of directors. Mr. Herald is president and a director of Crown Resources and also president and a director of Solitario Resources, a 57 per cent owned subsidiary of Crown. Under his leadership, Crown has had excellent exploration success, including the discovery of over four million ounces of gold in both North and South America and the Bongara zinc property in Peru.
