The whole history of Standard Oil at one time had been been one of assimilating functions that were previously considered peripheral. I don't know about Standard Oil, and I suspect you don't either, but I do know about software. I know that we have not reached some sort of OS nirvana where any deviation from the status quo would be a mistake, as the doj seems to assume.
