<..What does a Bay or ASND or even a 3Com add to the pie that they don't have already, or couldn't grow at home..> Hi Frank- Basically, the acquisitions you mentioned were small introductions into the world of datacom - which is a WHOLE different world (as I'm sure you know) than telecom. The acquisitions don't NEARLY address the breadth or depth of this market that a BAY or ASND or COMS would (I don't really see CS or NN in the same way). LU just does not HAVE the IP to plunge into the intricacies of broadband datacom without a major acquisition or partnership in the data networking field.
