*** Off Topic but On Topic ***

Just as the financial crisis in Asia has hurt the industry now India and Pakistan have decided to become nuclear powers. Both of these countries are in dire need of telecommunications improvements. These events with out a doubt will make it difficult for them to borrow to improve telecommunications in their countries. I don't think anyone or any company could have factored this in any projection when estimating growth of the industry. How is it these countries always need help with financing and grants but yet they still have the money to build armies and death machines ? My rant is over.

How does TDMA differ from GSM? E.g., how does AT&T flavor TDMA differ from European GSM?

I take it that although a London GSM phone will work in Sweden, Finland, France and Italy, an AT&T TDMA phone won't work in Europe. Is all that true?

Doug
