jhild,

I have to say that my license pictures have always looked better than I really do. In those pictures, I am beaming and smiling broadly, showing more teeth than Ed Sullivan ever did! The reason for this joyous countenance is that I have passed the driving test and know it! Here in California, they don't take your picture until after you have passed the test. You see, even after all these years with a squeaky clean driving record and nary a chargeable accident, I am still seized with paralytic panic at the thought of taking a driving test. Few things in life can fill me with more dread and trepidation than the rituals at the DMV.

Holly

This can backfire, jhild. My license before this had a terrific picture; I loved it. One day I was in a store and they asked for my ID and the clerk looked at the picture, back up at me and said," Wow, this is a really good picture! You look great!"
Excuse me? Meaning exactly what?
So this new one, I intentionally look BAD. Now I'm waiting for someone to say, "Are you sure this is YOU?"
But no one has.
