Pardon my ignorance. What is this new Intel (Merced) is it a new Motherboard, Processor? Sounds like something made only for military use. Where can I kindly read up about this new technology.

Jack, the many good reasons that you listed in detail (Packard Bell/NEC and the $699 pc, AMD and the K6-3D chip, etc.) are some of the reasons behind the forecasts for slowing earnings growth. Of course, you can't forget Asia. As prices drop and competition increases, revenue falls-off and profits go down...unless companies cut costs; ie, Intel laying-of 3000 employees. I wasn't suggesting that one buy Intel on Monday. I think its best to take a wait and see attitude until the FTC lawsuit is fully factored into the stock's price. Stock Bull
