CPQ was at that time selling about 99% hardware. The thought was that if they moved to more nearly match their customer's spending patterns they could greatly expand their business without having to grow the hardware segment as much, while at the same time building a much better relationship with their clients And this bullish or bearish for DELL? Oh and by the way, I just got a postcard from DELL. for $2,299 Below last quarters ASP, I can now get a: 400 MHz P II 64MB SDRAM 512KB l2 Cache 11.5 GB hard Drive, Overkill if you ask me, 6.4 is plenty 1000LS 17" monitor STB nVidia 4MB AGP video card 32X CD ROM Office 97 SBE Ectra ectra ectra That looks like a mighty low price to me.
