FT, Quite a number of people thought the only way to solve some of America's many problems (the vast majority being caused by the government in the first place) Of course the public always reacts at whatever they perceive of as "wrong" with "there oughta' be a law!" This is one reason we have the myriad of silly and unconstitutional and cumbersome laws we now suffer under, and "mandatory sentencing". The other reason is that our legislators feel the need to earn their salaries by, yes, legislating. Jack
