Merced is also pushed back to mid-2000 from mid-1999. Intel feels there is a need to test the chip further.

Since ADPT is not (yet ?) a significant player in the high-end market, this is unlikely to affect its sales. What technology do you consider high end? I know that ADPT does have some Fibre Channel products under its belt. Do you have any data regarding their success in this market? Firewire also sounds promising, and ADPT appears to me to perceive this new opportunity as an opportunity. I don't know much about Firewire, as I have just begun investigating ADPT and its technologies. JRH
