Carl, I think that Taiwan is well on its way to get some of the 16 new fabs (this was the number floating around at the beginning of 1997) they have been building in the last 18 months into production, thus I have a feeling (not knowledge, unfortunately) that the soaking of excess wafer production capacity is well underway.
