I almost exclusively track semiconductor manufacturing tech stocks so excuse the blood stains on my vision. Strongly agree that Q 2 pre-announcements will be overwhelmingly negative.This should set up a small dead cat bounce that will be a short relief and then Q 3 preannouncements will revisit levels of fear and margin calls.Somewhere in this time frame I hope to see quiet smart money accumulating strong bargain positions in beaten down tech stocks.I say that as a blanket statement because all tech stocks seem to get painted with the same brush.I.E. Intels news today. On the plus side I have Cohu and Nvls .These stocks were the very first to go up in january. Cohu has retracted to past support level and Nvls is actually up from january- fell today to be sure but up from last similar market mentality day in jan . Same thing for seagate tech. I like to buy on days like today - pick a lowball and don't chase it-very satisfying when it actually occurs and safer from huge loss scenario. All stocks seem to have their own cycles. I see an elite group of tech stocks trying to make this cycle a breakout time- but haven't seen a collective bottom with reversal.Today was pretty good - but joe six pack trader will read his paper tonight and sell tomorrow a.m.(I'm guessing). So I don't think we've had a good bloodletting yet and a double bottom 90 days out will be expected . I guess that puts me in the OCTOBER / November time period. Sooner would be nice but I'll Be surprised - Just my gut IMHO BWDIK Bob
